The John Greiner Trio/Quartet features the music of classic Jazz performers such as John Coltrane, Thelonious Monk, Miles Davis and Sonny Rollins to name a few. Combined with the classic compositions of Duke Ellington, Jerome Kern, George Gershwin and others, all of the most loved jazz classics as well as some of the more obscure and overlooked performers and composers are included in every performance.
The Trio instrumentation usually consists of saxophone, acoustic bass and drums, echoing the classic trio sound often used by jazz tenor legend Sonny Rollins. The Quartet line-up is the traditional saxophone, piano, bass and drums format.
